Thursday 3's

I want to say "thank you" to my mom and sister for participating in last week's inaugural Thursday 3's post. Hopefully this catches on a little more this week; I have a goal of three comments. :)

In honor of Dave and I recently signing the contract to remodel our bathroom and finish our attic, today's question is the following: What three updates do you want to do on your home next?

My answers:

1. Redo our "curb appeal" which includes new concrete steps to the front porch, repainting the porch, new flower beds with new retaining wall and a new retaining wall for the driveway.
2. Finish the basement. First and foremost we need to get our electrical up to date. It would be ideal to add another bathroom - rather - add more than just a toilet which is currently there.
3. Upgrade our kitchen counter tops to granite, instead of the fake wood they are now.

It's Official!

Dave signed the contract this morning with our selected contractor to remodel the bathroom and finish the attic! We have been wanting to update the bathroom since we moved in. I meant to take a picture to show you, but most of you (except Mackenzie, I think) have seen our green tie-dyed tile in the current bathroom. I am SO ready to get rid of it. We're getting new windows upstairs, too. It's a large amount of money but I believe we're spending it in the right areas: bathrooms sell and we're expanding the square footage of our home. Dave and I are meeting the contractor, Joe, at the tile place next Friday to pick out shower and floor tile. Joe starts work on either Thursday 4/8 or Friday 4/9 and the project will take 5 weeks. Which means it could be completed just as we're headed to Texas in early mid-May!
